According to the US Geological Survey, al-Jazeera said the earthquake struck the frozen sea in southern Cuba around 2:10 pm local time on Tuesday. The International Tsunami Information Center has issued a tsunami alert to those three countries immediately after the earthquake. In a statement, the agency said a large wave of tsunamis could hit the coast of Jamaica, Cuba and the Cayman Islands.
Following the warning, the government of the Islands of Simon ordered in a Twitter message to remove the coastal people.
